Wow… the most astounding fireworks of my life!  What an amazing 4th of July in Compton.  The fireworks had been going off nightly for several days.  It was obvious by the dozens of fireworks that the 4th would be amazing.

The fireworks started a half-hour before sunset. By 9pm the skies were filled with bombs exploding in air in all directions.

The streetlamps glowed in the gunpowder smoke.

Puffy clouds appeared everywhere from the explosions. The sound was deafening with a constant flow of explosions in all directions of all sizes and volumes.

My favorite sound of all is the “whoomp” of the mortals firing the explosives. Awesome!
