5th South

by The Hippy Coyote

This song is about the apartment I lived in on 500 South.

I lived 5 blocks south and 7 blocks east of the Mormon Temple which is the center of Salt Lake City, and the center of the entire state of Utah.

But this song isn't about them.

This song was about my house.

Shabby and rundown with drunk indians and face slashing Central Americans, it was my home.

I tried to make storm noises with an analog synthesizer for the intro. They sounded more like waves of surf crashing down than lightning flashes. I wonder if they'll even be in the final mix now.
