My best friend for more years than anyone else. When we lived out of my van, he'd bound from the ground to my spare wheel mounted on the rear, to the top of my sky blue roof. Through the vent on my van roof, he would request admission. Half asleep, half naked, half open, I would reach out the side doors of my van, grasp the nape of his neck like a mother lion, and with some discomfort to Celise, pulled him inside like a crane arm with an alligator jaw.
Celise went everywhere with me. I had carpet screwed onto my engine cover between the front seats of my 1969 Ford van. This made it easy for Celise to hold on as we drove around. "I love you Celise. I choke and tear with this brief thought of you."
